The Coffee Region
Overview
The Coffee Triangle, also called Eje Cafetero and Zona Cafetera, is a rolling to mountainous area east of Bogotá and south of Medellín. The area is a Unesco World Heritage Site and there are special coffee (car) trails to follow. There is great biodiversity, making the coffee triangle a paradise for nature lovers and bird spotters. The area is “home to” volcanoes, glaciers, waterfalls, thermal pools, natural parks and the world’s tallest palm trees.
