Terraza San Alberto in Buenavista

There are many great places to have a cup of coffee in the Colombia coffee triangle. One of the places that stands out in terms of views is Terraza San Alberto in the village of Buenavista, close to Pijao. This is such a beautiful place, that it’s worth a detour during a round trip along the picturesque coffee villages.

Buenavista is an “upcoming” coffee hotspot in the Quindío region. The village is still relatively unknown, especially compared to tourist villages such as Salento and Filandia.

Hacienda San Alberto’s coffee has won many national and international awards, including the Monde Selection Gold Award and the award for Colombia’s most exotic coffee.

Therefore, more and more coffee lovers like to take a detour off the famous tourist coffee route, for a cup of coffee on the terrace of Hacienda San Alberto.

Terrace “with a view”
The terrace is located on a hill, 200 meters from the village square. From the terrace, you look out over the coffee plantations in the hills.

Guided tour of the plantation
There are also guided tours of the coffee plantation. Here you get a glimpse of the production process and see (and taste) the different techniques for brewing coffee. According to connoisseurs, San Alberto coffee is characterized by an aroma of caramel and dark chocolate.

Cafés in Bogotá and Cartagena
Does a visit to Café San Alberto in Buenavista not fit into your schedule, but do you want to taste the “award winning” coffee? There are cafes at the Gold Museum and Usaquén in Bogotá and there is a San Alberto café in Cartagena.
