The Colombian Coffee triangle, the Eje Cafetero include the departments of Quindío, Risaralda and Caldas. Here, coffee is not just a drink, it is a lifestyle. During a coffee workshop, we learned that pouring the perfect cup of coffee is a ceremony, similar to the Japanese tea ceremony. Here, everything has to be right; the temperature of the water and the cup and the way of pouring the coffee.

    Of the major cities, Bogotá leads the way when it comes to the number of specialized coffee bars, there are over 50. Cities such as Medellín and Cartagena also have a vibrant coffee culture, where you can sip a carefully crafted cup of coffee or do a coffee workshop.
